They used "Dynamite with a lazer beam" from Queen's "Killer Queen".

You want to answer it?

Hey guys. If this isn't allowed, I apologize. But it would boost my ego immensely if y'all could check out a blog I've recently started. It is mostly for me and for my own entertainment, but it would be nice if other people knew about it and hopefully enjoyed it.

11:27 am - Music Conference w/Freddie Mercury Roundtable Discussion

2010 Pop Conference at Seattle’s EMP/SFM (Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum).
Held April 15-18, the free conference promises papers (some academic and some less so), panels and workshops, and there might even be some (figurative) slam dancing at the Saturday (April 17) panel that is one of the marquee attractions: “Music in the ’00s: A Technologically Informed But Not Determined Discussion” features a critical mass that includes Chuck Eddy and the Los Angeles Times’ Ann Powers, and the “roundtable” is headed by Robert Christgau, who became known as “the dean of American rock critics” when he was at the Village Voice.

The other headline happening at the conference, itself billed as The Pop Machine: Music and Technology, will be “Freddie Mercury Deconstructed.” The Friday (April 17) roundtable will focus on the “hidden aspects of his public image,” namely the late Queen singer’s “Asian heritage and African roots, his work with black and Asian musicians, and his bisexuality.”

10:23 am - My Online Tradition
mel_pa I am maintaining my online tradition today by posting this message of honoring Freddie's memory with suggestions I am making to giving money, time, etc. to AIDS charities.

This is why:

On 22 November 1991, Mercury called Queen's manager Jim Beach over to his Kensington home, to discuss a public statement. The next day, 23 November, the following announcement was made to the press on behalf of Mercury:[52]

Following the enormous conjecture in the press over the last two weeks, I wish to confirm that I have been tested HIV positive and have AIDS. I felt it correct to keep this information private to date to protect the privacy of those around me. However, the time has come now for my friends and fans around the world to know the truth and I hope that everyone will join with me, my doctors, and all those worldwide in the fight against this terrible disease. My privacy has always been very special to me and I am famous for my lack of interviews. Please understand this policy will continue.

A little over 24 hours after issuing the statement, Mercury died on 24 November 1991 at the age of 45. The official cause of death was bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS.[53] Although he had not attended religious services in years, Mercury's funeral was conducted by a Zoroastrian priest. Elton John, David Bowie, and the remaining members of Queen attended the funeral. He was cremated at Kensal Green Cemetery.

10:25 am - Will Adam Lambert Temp Front Queen?
mel_pa On "Larry King Live" May 25th "American Idol" contestant Adam Lambert
talked about being asked to temp front Queen. This was what Lambert said:

LAMBERT: I want to do an album. That's my first goal. I don't know, something kind of, you know, pop, rock. Like an electronic production kind of edge to it. Something kind of new. I want to do something different.

SEACREST: Any truth to the rumor that Queen offered you the gig as lead singer?

LAMBERT: I think that they were interested in maybe me coming out and joining them here and there.

SEACREST: They had a conversation with you?

SEACREST: They did?

LAMBERT: Yes, yes. SEACREST: What did you say?

LAMBERT: You know, obviously, we have to work it all out.

SEACREST: Look at me. Look at me.

LAMBERT: There's a lot --

SEACREST: What did you say when they said, do you want to be the lead singer of Queen?

LAMBERT: They didn't say do you want to be the lead singer of Queen. They said, would you like to come out -- yes, of course, that would be amazing. They said, we would love to see you out and come out with us and sing with us.

SEACREST: You said, yes?

LAMBERT: I said I would love to, yes.

10:10 am - Was Freddie in or out of the Closet?
mel_pa For years I've been hearing all kinds of stuff about Freddie's "outness" status. Whether or not Freddie was openly gay/bisexual, I have a hard time believing Freddie was closeted. Did you feel you were given a mixed message by the media?
